Avi Flashenburg, founder of The Body Tech, is a seasoned massage therapist based in Miami Beach, Florida. Practicing since 1999, he has honed his craft in chiropractic and physical therapy settings while extending his healing mission beyond the treatment room. For Avi, true recovery thrives on partnership and empowerment through education.

Avi’s Philosophy on Massage

Massage is a powerful ally for relaxation, stress relief, and rehabilitating chronic pain or lingering injuries. It restores the vital link between body, mind, and spirit—recentering and re-grounding your entire being. Having received massage therapy himself for eight years before training professionally, Avi is passionate about his calling. “If you must work every day to earn a living,” he says, “you should love what you do.” He finds deep fulfillment in sharing his healing gift.

Many who suffer from chronic pain or limited mobility assume relief is out of reach. Yet massage therapy can expand range of motion with passive and assisted stretching while easing pain by unraveling deep-seated tension patterns.

Education

Avi trained at the Massage Institute of New England in Cambridge, Massachusetts, earning certification in Swedish massage and exploring modalities like hydrotherapy. He later specialized in Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) at Educating Hands School of Massage.

Experience

Before entering massage therapy, Avi spent 12 years in finance. He refined his skills at Le Pli Day Spa in Harvard Square, mastering spa treatments including body wraps, salt scrubs, foot reflexology, and hot stone massage. From 2007 to 2008, he served the Miami City Ballet.

Success & Practice

Since launching his independent practice in 1999, Avi relocated to South Florida in 2001—drawn by the climate and the region’s recognition of massage as an essential healthcare profession, regulated and supported under Florida’s Board of Health.
