A Journey from the System… Back to the Soul

Within Center wasn’t born from a spreadsheet—it emerged from lived pain and hard-won truth. Healing has been my path since childhood: therapy at 12, rehab at 17. I claimed sobriety then and held it, but soon learned staying clean isn’t the same as becoming whole. For two decades I searched—for wholeness, truth, peace, and the way home to my Self.

Along the way I built a career guiding others on the same quest. I opened twelve facilities across Texas and Hawaii: rehabs, detoxes, inpatient and outpatient programs. But the deeper I dove, the clearer the cracks became. The system was failing—90-95% relapse rates, over-medicated clients, labels that stigmatized, searches that humiliated, profits that eclipsed people. It was a revolving door of shame, and I couldn’t stay inside it.

So I walked away.

I sold everything and traveled to Peru, sitting in ceremony with Shipibo elders and grandmother medicine deep in the jungle. I entered a darkness retreat. I surrendered. And for the first time, I truly came home. My nervous system settled. My spirit softened. Something ancient and alive stirred awake.

When I returned, the world looked different—and so did I.

In the quiet of 2020, a small circle of veterans, doctors, police officers, and soul friends gathered in Austin, Texas, to birth Within Center. It was never meant to be a clinic or a business. It is a living sanctuary—a space to calm the nervous system, awaken consciousness, and remember who we are beneath the noise.

We began with ceremonial ketamine therapy and deep integration, weaving sacred ritual with clinical precision. No labels. No shame. No hierarchy. Only truth, courage, and community.

Then the vision grew roots.

In 2025 we moved to AWKN Ranch—a 12-acre sanctuary just outside Austin, crafted with reverence: two ceremonial yurts, a yoga and wellness pavilion, cold plunges, saunas, pickleball courts, pools, fire circles, hammock gardens, and a sacred temple for profound inner work. Here, people feel safe, held, and truly seen. Healing isn’t theoretical—it’s palpable.

Today, Within Center is more than a place; it’s a movement. We’re co-creating a new paradigm for mental health—one that honors ancient wisdom, sacred plant allies, rigorous science, and the boundless power of the human heart.

We don’t fix people. We help them remember.
